Born and raised in Cornwall, Ontario, Will combines small-town friendliness with big city creative prowess. He studied communications and design at the Ontario College of Art, graduating in 1996. While still a student Will started a part-time design position at Burton Kramer’s office, one Canada’s pioneering graphic designers, continuing full-time after graduation. He also did stints at Bhandari & Plater and Publicis Ove Brand Design, before co-founding Clear Space.

At Clear Space, Will leads the strategic vision and creative direction for the firm. He is an advocate for smart and minimalist ideas that make a big impact while always keeping the business needs and goals of his clients in sight. To Will, design is only as successful as its ability to solve a client’s specific challenges. With that in mind, he approaches every assignment with a combination of clear thinking, calm demeanour, imaginative design and an eye to the big picture.

With almost 25 years of experience, Will has shaped the identities and communications for some of Canada’s most notable organizations, garnering numerous awards and accolades for his work along the way.

Will is an active contributor to the design community where he provides mentorship to young designers. He is also a member of the RGD, where he has participated in discussion panels and speaking engagements, judged award competitions, and assisted in portfolio reviews.

Will lives with his wife and 2 children, just outside of Toronto in West Pickering. He has a healthy obsession with the Hudson’s Bay Stripes brand and counts chopping wood as a favourite past time.
